New Dashboard under developmentCarbontech in cooperation with Australian Arrow, are designing a new instrument cluster for the Redback Spyder. This will involve the world leading display technology from Australian Arrow to produce an instrument cluster that is all electronic - that's right, no moving parts. "So what" I hear you say - the Commodore VL SL/X had an all electronic dash and that was a disaster. You may be right, but that was back in the 1980's - technology has moved on since then. The new Australia Arrow design uses the latest LED technology to replace moving gauge needles with rotating beams of coherent light. This means that response rates are far quicker and this is a very good thing in a car like the Redback Spyder. It also means that you can change the colour of the dash layout by the twiddling of a knob. Here's the prototype layout...
